Motorcyclist killed in Wallingford accident


WALLINGFORD — A motor vehicle accident on South Colony Road caused one fatality and the hospitalization of another person Saturday afternoon.

Battalion Chief Richard Gibson of the Wallingford Fire Department said a car and a motorcycle collided at about 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Colony and Chester Avenue.

The crash took the life of the motorcyclist, Timothy M. Rosa, 52, of New Haven, according to Lt. Glen King. The other motorist, Debra Denhart, 47, of Wallingford, was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for several hours as a result of the accident as the police department’s traffic division investigated the scene. The investigation is still in progress.
