BERLIN — Filming will begin in a few weeks on a set of videos portraying the town as an attractive place for prospetive homeowners and businesses.
“What the towns and businesses want (is) to create is a network of quality and showcasing the best aspects of what Berlin is all about,” said Will Colon, an account executive with CGI Communications. The company operates nationwide, creating promotional videos and marketing material for thousands of municipalities.
The town hired CGI to create six videos for the town’s website, including an introduction to Berlin from Town Manager Jack Healy, an overview of the town’s school system, economic development opportunities, a tour of the new train station, local shopping and dining, and a look at the real estate market.
Rather than charging the town for the service, CGI allows businesses that want to be included in the videos to sponsor the project. “They’re happy to see their story told for the very first time in a video format,” Colon said.
Having visited Berlin a few weeks ago, he said Berlin is “a nice town” with good development potential and a welcoming environment.
“Obviously with the new train station coming into the area, there’s a lot of new economic development projects coming into the town,” Colon said. “It seems like people here know each other. (They’re) very much locals and want to work with local businesses. Thats always a good thing.”
