The Newington/Berlin/Manchester/Cromwell high school hockey team edged Norwalk-McMahon 1-0 to improve to 2-0. The lone goal was scored with a minute left in the second period. Patrick Doherty [M] netted it, assisted by CadePalladino [C].

Goaltender Dave Mix [M] stopped 17 shots to help secure the victory.

NBMC would go on to best Norwalk-McMahon again, this time by a 3-1 tally.

Trailing 1-0, NBMC got on the board with approximately 3:30 left in the second on a Nick DeRiu [N] goal assisted by Andrew Graham [B] and Ethan Ranger [C].

Just minutes later, Matt Lavoie [B] scored on a powerplay, giving NBMC a 2-1 lead.  Lavoie was assisted by Cade Palladino and Justin Stergos [C].

With Norwalk pressuring late in the third, Kyle Bucher [C] solidified the victory with an empty net goal assisted by Cade Palladino and Matt Lavoie.

Goaltender Dave Mix faced 18 shots and allowed just one goal.

In its next outing, NBMC blasted Joel Barlow 11-0. Fifteen players notched a point in the game and NBMC’s three goalies each provided one period of shutout hockey: Dave Mix, Adam Belair [C] and Alex DiPaola [N].

Accumulating points for the victors were Patrick Doherty (4-GAGA); Matt Lavoie (3-AGG); Tyler Ralph [B] (3-AGG); Nick Deriu [N] (3-GAA); Ethan Ranger (2-AG); Kyle Bucher (2-AA); Cade Palladino (2-AA); Andrew Graham (2-AA); Justin Roberts [M] (G); Mark Sweitzer [B] (G); Max Kyrychenko [N] (G); Joe Fogarty [M] (A); Justin Stergos (A); Killian Ranger [C] (A) and Sam Hedlund (A).

Newington/Berlin/Manchester/Cromwell improved to 4-0 with the win.
