BERLIN – A section of High Road will be closed for several months starting in April as work begins on the replacement of the High Road Bridge.
“It’s a well traveled road so detours will be listed,” said Jack Healy, Acting Town Manager and director of Public Works.
High Road will be closed to through traffic between Glen Street and Winchell Drive starting April 15, to Oct. 1.
A state inspection several years ago found the bridge, built in 1989, was in poor condition. Replacement was suggested with 50 percent state funding and 50 percent local funding.
The total project cost is $1 million. It is required to be complete in 180 days.
Updates will be provided on the town website.
