BERLIN — Local singers, magicians and other performers won’t be confined to watching the “professionals” on stage at the Berlin Fair.
Instead, this year the fair will introduce “Berlin’s Got Talent.”
“We have so many talented kids and people I’ve met through the years who live in town,” said fair Assistant Entertainment Director Lenny Tubbs. He hopes to see 20 to 30 participants, with auditions being held at the fairground on Sept. 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. Those who wish to audition can register on the fair’s website.
They’re also currently seeking a panel of judges to decide who will advance through the three rounds, one each night of the fair, with the top winners splitting $1,000.
The talent competition is not the only new attraction to the fair, which runs Sept. 14-16. There will also be a charity bean bag throwing contest and helicopter rides.
Getting into the fair has also become easier with the launch of online ticket sales.
“We have people from every part of Berlin and businesses in town. It’s truly a community event,” Tubbs said. “There’s something for everyone at the Berlin Fair.”
