CHESHIRE — The owner of a new breakfast and lunch restaurant expects to open Cheshire Place next month.
Owner Segundo Fernandez, of East Haven, said they should be able to open in about two weeks at 532 W. Main St.
J Sushi was formerly in the space, but closed several month ago.
Cheshire Place will serve breakfast and lunch weekdays and be open for dinner on the weekends, likely Friday and Saturday, but Fernandez said that’s still to be determined.
The restaurant has tables and chairs set up, a menu decided, and wait staff ready to go. This is Fernandez’s first restaurant.
Economic Development Director Jerry Sitko said the new restaurant will be a good development to an area with a lot of vehicle traffic.
“Especially out on West Main, it’s a good type of business to have out there,” Sitko said. “When they open, my hope is that Cheshire residents support them.”
Cheshire Place will be located next to Pop’s Pizza, Triple J Automotive and Optimal Wellness Center. The building is owned by WMSA, LLC., according to town records.
