CHESHIRE — A local construction company is building new headquarters on the site of a former gas station on Route 10.
Ricci Construction, a family-owned company founded in town 30 years ago, will move from its current offices at 680 S. Main St. Jonathan Ricci, the project manager and son of company founder John Ricci, said they’ll likely move in early February.
John Ricci bought the property at 986 S. Main St. in May for $187,500. The gas station was torn down to make way for the offices and showroom. The exterior of the two-story, 4,800 square-foot building is complete. Interior work is ongoing, Jonathan Ricci said.
Ricci Construction will occupy a portion of the first floor while Kitchens and Baths by A Matter of Style will occupy the remainder with their offices and showroom. Another tenant will take the second floor but Jonathan Ricci said the deal wasn’t yet public.
“It’s better to have some Route 10 exposure,” he said of the new location. The company and A Matter of Style are currently in a building set back from the road.
Martha Gargano, a designer with the kitchen and bath company, said they’re also on the second floor at their current location. The new first-floor location will have a model kitchen that displays the appliances and cabinetry the company sells. The new building will also be more visible.
“This is right on South Main Street,” Gargano said. ”We’re going to have a great showroom, a live kitchen.”
She said A Matter of Style will also move in early February and have a grand opening in the spring.
