CHESHIRE — A local business was cited for selling tobacco to a minor Tuesday in a series of 13 compliance checks conducted by police and the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Cheshire Deli and Fresh Juice, 197 Main St., was issued an infraction for sale of tobacco to a minor. Lt. Michael Durkee said the business faces penalties from the state, including a fine and retraining of employees.
The compliance checks were conducted using underage “buyers” working for the state. The other 12 businesses were in compliance.
