Man charged in Cheshire officer involved shooting last year has case continued



CHESHIRE — A local man charged with firing a gun at police during a standoff on Fairway Drive last year had his case continued in New Haven Superior Court on Monday. 

Cameron Pernin, 29, of 137 Fairway Drive, faces two counts of attempted first-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree threatening, third-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges.

Pernin is due in court July 3. He has not entered a plea.

Police say he fired two rounds at officers investigating an incident at the Fairway Drive condominium on June 22, 2018. Police then fired on Pernin, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, wounding him in the hand. No officers were injured.

He remains held on $750,000 bond.
