Cheshire police: Man crashed stolen car, led officers on foot chase

CHESHIRE — A man faces charges after police said he led officers on a foot pursuit after he crashed a stolen car.

Adam Guzman, 20, was charged Thursday with second-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, operating too fast for conditions and operating a motor vehicle without a license. His bond was set at $100,000.

The incident began in North Haven when a resident confronted Guzman after observing him attempting to enter unlocked cars. Lt. Michael Durkee said Guzman fled in a stolen car, and the resident followed him through Hamden and Cheshire, where Guzman eventually crashed.

Police responded to the scene and took Guzman into custody after a brief foot chase, Durkee said.

North Haven and Hamden police also issued Guzman a summons.
