CHESHIRE — A New Haven man faces charges after police said he was found growing about 70 marijuana plants on open property near a local business.

Michael Desbiens, 43, of 95 Fountain St., was charged Saturday with criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of more than four ounces of marijuana and interfering with police.

The arrest stemmed from a tip from a local business in the area of 130 Johnson Ave. that monitors its open space with electronic surveillance, according to police.
