Southington woman charged with DUI after leaving crash scene in Cheshire

CHESHIRE — A Southington woman faces charges after police said she struck a utility pole early Friday and left the scene.

Jennifer Loguidice, 36, of 45 Craig Ave., Southington, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, evading responsibility and failure to drive right.

Police responded to Cheshire Street and Blacks Road about 1:15 a.m. for a report that a white Toyota Highlander had left the scene of a crash. An officer saw the vehicle driving erratically on South End Road and pulled it over, according to a police report said.

The officer noticed the driver –  Loguidice  – was slurring her words and at times appeared confused, the report said. She passed one field sobriety test, failed two others and was placed in custody.

Loguidice was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Friday. The judge released her on a promise to appear with the condition she complies with alcohol counseling. She is due back in court on June 6.
