CHESHIRE — Police are investigating a reported shoplifting at a Route 10 liquor store Sunday.
Police responded to the area of Highland Avenue and Cedar Lane about 2:15 pm.. for a report of a suspected shoplifter that fled Cheshire Wine and Spirits, 581 Highland Ave. The suspect reportedly stole two bottles from the liquor store, police said.
The suspect was described as a man wearing a red jacket. He reportedly fled on foot onto Cedar Lane.
A caller near 8 Flagler Ave., one street south of Cedar Lane, reported seeing the suspect running through the home’s backyard. Police also reportedly found a dropped bottle of Grey Goose vodka near 38 Cedar Lane.
