CHESHIRE — Police continue to remind residents to lock their car doors after eight cars were burglarized and two cars were stolen in town early Wednesday morning.
Police said the burglarized cars were unlocked and the two cars stolen had keys left in them. The thefts occurred in the neighborhoods surrounding Cook Road and Coleman Road.
Vehicles most targeted are ones with unsecure doors, windows left down, valuables left in sight and keys left in the car.
Residents are asked to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, including locking their cars and homes at night, closing garage doors, and leaving outside lights on. Police also asked residents to report suspicious activity.
On Monday, four people were charged after reported car thefts on Cedar Lane. Anyone with information regarding any car thefts is asked to contact the Cheshire Police Department Investigation Division at 203-271-5530.
