The event occurred on Saturday, June 29, at the Town of Southingtons' Goat Island Open Space Property. This was the second time the Southington Land Trust has teamed up with the employees of Tighe & Bond Engineering. Last year the clean-up included removing debris from the Quinnipiac River as well as from the Goat Island Open Space Property.
Our employees and the SLCT members got to work and removed around 40 bags of debris from the area. As you can see, there was still quite a bit material to be hauled out. There still is some debris remaining, but it will require some additional muscle to be removed.
Thank you to our SLCT Members for their efforts on a hot and sticky day. And special thanks goes out to our stewardship partners, Tighe & Bond Engineering and their incredible employees for giving back to the community in which they both work and live.
