The American Silver Museum at the Franklin Johnson Mansion in Wallingford will have an Open House on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. The museum is located at 153 South Main St., Wallingford. During the open house, docents will be on hand to give tours and provide information about the home, the silver, and the people who made it.
The American Silver Museum is a fascinating collection of silver, sterling and other manufactured metal items made in Wallingford and Meriden during the late 19th and early 20th century. These items are housed in a Victorian home and shown as they would have been used by a family of that period in their daily life.
The museum continues to evolve and each week additional items are put on display. Even if you have visited once, on a return visit you will find new and interesting items which you have not seen before, brought to light by the museum’s intrepid volunteers.
The open house is open to the public.
