Wallingford Wal-Mart Associates Read to Local Elementary School Students

Read Across America Day and the birthday of Dr. Seuss come together every March to celebrate a nation of diverse readers. Recently, Wal-Mart of Wallingford has taken a role in encouraging our local students to read more by going to Moses Y. Beach Elementary School and reading to a few of the kindergarten classes.  The students especially love The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss and can even recite some of the story with the reader! The reader, in this case, is Pamelyn Pizzichillo, an Academy Facilitator at Wal-Mart. This is the second year Evelyn Smiles, the Academy Coordinator, has made arrangements with the school to read to the students and provide a grant from Wal-Mart for the school and its library.

Thank you to Mr. Robert Arciero, Principal and Anne Porier, Library Teacher for having us!
