The Wallingford Garden Club was active in the 38th Annual CT Flower and Garden Show, from painting and setting up to entering exhibits. The painting crew consisted of Karin Pyskaty, Kathy Bryson, Laurie Gray, Eileen McMahon, Shirley Lagerstrom, Rose Northrop, Cathleen Cullen and Sue Broughton. This dedicated group spent a day at the CT Convention Center prepping for the big show, and as always had a grand time. Some members also served as hostesses. Other members entered exhibits, such as the Educational tri-fold poster of a Saved Seed project done with local school children in Wallingford. This was done by the Youth Committee, whose chairs are Deb Tagliatela and Sue Hillinski and it earned a first place, blue ribbon.
The theme this year was April in Paris and in Division II: Design Karin Pyskaty, president of the Wallingford Garden Club, entered a petite design representing true love. The theme of this Class was "Love Locks: on the Pont des Arts. It featured a mesh backround with tiny locks to mean your loved was locked in forever. In front was a bouquet of tiny red roses set on a lavender scarf. This beautiful exhibit earned a white ribbon for Honorable Mention.
