The Level 7 and Level 5 Gymnasts at American Gymnastics Training Center in Plantsville recently won their first competition of the season at the Muriel Grossfeld Invitational which took place at Southern Connecticut State University the weekend of Friday, Nov. 17, to Sunday, Nov. 19. The Level 7 girls scored a 110.30 beating out the second place team by over two points. The Level 5 Team scored a 179.80 beating the competition by over seven points.

Heading the Level 7 group was Devyn Battistoni, 11, who won the Child Division with a 36.425. She also placed first on vault, 9.225 and floor with a 9.70. Kira Strauss, 11, placed second All Around in the Child Division with a 36.30 and took first on the bars, 9.225. Samantha Rogers, 11, took fourth All Around in the Child Division, 35.475, and placed second on beam, 9.05 and floor, 9.25. Alana Akbas, 12, placed 10th All Around with a 34.05 in the Child Division.

Isabella Guay, 12, placed sixth in the Junior Division with a 35.375 and took second on the bars, 9.15. Hannah Tao, 12, took third on the bars, 9.075. Olivia Donis, 13, took third on the floor, 9.05 in the Junior Division. Tia Guay, 13, placed first floor, 9.15, and took second All Around, 35.475 in the Senior Division. Katelyn Hick won the Vault, 9.05 in the Senior Division.

The Level 5 girls were lead by Lauren Golioto, 10, who placed first All Around with a 36.10 in the Childs Division. She also took first on the beam, 9.15 and the floor, 9.0. Jacqui Hong, 10, placed first on the bars, 9.0 and took second All Around, 35.875 in the Childs Division. Kate Hynes, nine, took first on the vault, 9.65, and 3rd All Around, 35.425 in the Childs Division. Caydin Lord, nine, took fourth All Around, 34.85 in the Childs Division. Taylor Cooley, nine, placed 9th All Around, 33.375 in the Child Division. Kaylie Vaccaro, 10, placed third on the Bars, 8.55 and took 13th in the Child Division with a 32.65.

Alexis Taylor, 11, placed fifth All Around, 34.575 in the Junior Division and placed second on vault, 9.325 and Beam, 8.9. Kaylin Sweeney, 11, took seventh All Around, 33.55 and placed second on the bars with an 8.50 in the Junior Division. Olivia Smailes, 11, took third All Around, 34.375, in the Senior A Division.

Sara Dreschler, 12, won the Senior B age Division with a 35.75. She also placed first on the vault, 9.60, beam, 9.0, and the floor, 8.85.

The Level 5 girls were honored to receive their awards from Gymnastics Legend and three time Olympian, Muriel Grossfeld herself.
