Fourth and fifth graders at Nathan Hale School enjoyed a ‘Birds of Prey’ presentation by A Place Called Hope from Killingworth. In reading center, students had read Arrowhawk, and studied wildlife conservation and animal rehabilitation. At the assembly, students learned about the eastern screech owl, barred owl, red-tailed hawk, and American kestrel. They were encouraged to be wildlife warriors and to do their part in protecting birds of prey. For example, put up window decals, don't let balloons float away, and don't throw trash on the side of the road.
