WALLINGFORD — Star is a “very sweet and mellow”  pitbull-boxer mix looking for a home at the Wallingford Animal Shelter.

Star, 6 years old, was brought to the shelter a couple weeks ago by her owner, who adopted Star from the shelter three years ago but had to return her because his living situation changed, said Assistant Animal Control Officer Rachel Amenta.

Amenta described Star as “even-tempered” and “well-behaved.” She is a favorite with shelter volunteers.

“Everyone who meets her loves her,” Amenta said. “She’s very sweet and mellow.”

Star can go to a home with young children but cannot go to a home with other dogs, Amenta said, adding the shelter hasn’t yet tested how Star reacts to cats.

Star likes to go on walks and play, Amenta said, but isn’t hyperactive.

“I think she's a dog that could pretty much go to anyone and be a companion,” she said.

Star is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and has no known health issues.  To inquire about adopting her contact the animal shelter, 5 Pent Road, at 203-294-2180 or at info@wallingfordanimalcontrol.com.
