With the holiday season upon us, I am looking for different and delicious appetizers to bring to gatherings. I came across this recipe with three ingredients that took about 10 minutes to prepare.
It can be a time saver for the multi-tasker because you can work on another dish while this one is sizzling away in the oven. Plus, it has bacon. Need I say more?
You will need: 1 package of mini-hotdogs, 1 pound of bacon and about ¾ cup of brown sugar. For cookware you will need a baking sheet lined in tinfoil (unless you want to spend hours scrubbing)
To Make: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line the baking sheet with tinfoil. Open the package of bacon and cut the strips in half so you have double the amount of shorter length pieces. Roll 1 piece of bacon around each mini-hotdog. Roll the wrapped hotdogs in the brown sugar, packing it into the ends. Place the prepared treats on the baking sheet. Bake for about 18 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and sugar bubbly. IMPORTANT: Let these cool before touching as the sugar will be molten hot.
These were very delicious and went quickly. The combination of salty and sweet was a major hit.
