WALLINGFORD — A Center Street colonial, thoroughly renovated by well-known property owner Lucy Gouveia, is on the market for $319,900.
The 1,568 square-foot home at 711 Center St. had no electricity when Gouveia bought it in February 2018.
”It has a new heating system, roof, remodeled kitchen, bedroom and bath,” said listing agent Lucille Trzcinski of Mainline New England Real Estate. “It’s a beautiful house.”
The four-bedroom home was built in the 1920s and was remodeled to leave the period accents and brick chimney in place.
”It has a great feel to it,” Trzcinski said. “New, but with all its old world charm.”
The rooms are large and bright with new windows. There are three porches: one in the front, one off the kitchen and one off an upstairs bedroom.
It also has a walk-up attic that spans the length of the house with plumbing for a full bathroom already in place. The neighborhood is on an attractive block on Center Street, near Vinny’s Deli and East Side Market. The home is within walking distance to shopping, a golf course, and restaurants.
The roof, heating system, and electrical systems are new, and the plumbing has been updated.
The porches have been redone and the exterior wood has been sanded to a smooth finish, Trzcinski said.
