WALLINGFORD — The price for a luxury Georgian Colonial designed by recognized architect Peter Chow was reduced earlier this month by $50,000.
This 4,048 square-foot home sits on 2.24 acres at 135 George Washington Trail and offers sweeping views of the town’s east side. It is now listed at $699,900.
“Its architectural design and details make it unique,” said listing agent Dawn Hoydilla of Berkshire Hathaway New England Properties. “There are so many fabulous features inside.”
Chow, a founder of Oak Park Architecture in West Hartford, worked on projects at Yale University and taught architecture at Yale and the University of Hartford.
He was also a member of the West Hartford Design Review Board and is a design awards juror for the American Institute for Architects in North Virginia.
Chow designed the Georgian Colonial in the late 1980s.
It is 30 years old and unique for the area, Hoydilla said.
Its foyer has thick columns, marble flooring and high ceilings.
The interior has an open floor plan, a sun-filled kitchen with custom finishes, granite countertops, cherry cabinets, Jenn-Air cooktop, double wall ovens, walk-in pantry, breakfast bar and breakfast nook.
The formal dining room has crown and dentil molding, a crystal chandelier and Waterford wall sconces. The family room has custom built-ins, a wet bar, and a fireplace.
The formal living room features detailed molding.
A music room has built-ins, pocket doors and recessed lighting.
One of the home’s brightest features is the two-story sunroom with floor to ceiling Palladian windows and Mexican tiles.
The master bedroom suite includes a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower.
All other bedrooms offer jack and jill bathrooms.
There is hardwood flooring and tile throughout.
