Wednesday morning fire damages office at Meriden Police Department



 

MERIDEN — Smoke from an electrical fire damaged an office in the police station early Wednesday.

Fire Chief Ken Morgan said firefighters responded to the police station, 50 W. Main St., at about 2 a.m. and quickly contained and extinguished the fire. 

Sgt. John Mennone said the fire did significant damage to an unoccupied second-floor administrative office.

There were no reported injuries. The cause is under investigation.
