MERIDEN — A city man has been charged after police said he led officers on a motor vehicle pursuit Thursday night.

Anthony Doneday, 27, of 55 North St., was charged with possession of marijuana, engaging police in pursuit, suspended license and registration, reckless driving and two counts of stop sign violation.

An officer observed a car speeding near Springdale Avenue and Windsor Avenue about 6 p.m. and attempted a traffic stop, said police Sgt. Christopher Fry. The driver did not stop.

At around 10 p.m., an officer located the car and pulled it over, Fry said. Doneday, the driver, was taken into custody.

Doneday’s bond was set at $7,500. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 21.
