MERIDEN — A local man is once again opening up his garden to the public to raise funds for The Garden Conservancy.
George Trecina’s garden is open for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at his home at 341 Spring St. Admission to the Garden Days tour is $7.
Garden Days is a series of tours of private gardens around the country, with events occurring throughout the year. Trecina said most homeowners offer tours in the spring, but his late summer tour offers tropical flowers not typically seen in Connecticut.
“People relate to this garden as things they’ve seen in southern California, Florida, other countries, Mediterranean climates,” he said. For more information, visit www.gardenconservancy.org/open-days
