Meriden man in stable condition after Friday night stabbing



MERIDEN — A city man in stable condition after a stabbing Friday night outside Shelter NOW on St. Casimer Drive.

Detective Robert Nesci of the Special Crimes Unit said the victim is in stable condition after being sent to Hartford Hospital with “non-life threatening” injuries.

Police investigated the scene were the stabbing occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Friday night and confirmed that there was an altercation between three parties that resulted in the stabbing. An initial statement from police said that there were two suspects in custody. 

Nesci said one suspect was not charged after evaluating the case because there was no probable cause to show the suspect was involved in the altercation. The second suspect in custody is a juvenile and further information was not released.

The charges of the juvenile were not immediately available.
