Meriden police still looking for stolen car suspect

MERIDEN — Police say a suspect in a stolen car who fled from police Thursday has not yet been apprehended. The chase began in Meriden and ended in North Haven

A city police officer attempted to pull over a car on Old Colony Road around 3:45 p.m. after determining it was reported stolen, said police spokesman Sgt. Darrin McKay.

Stop sticks were used in Meriden. The police pursuit went through Wallingford and ended in a field in North Haven, McKay said.

At about 5 p.m. Thursday, North Haven police responded to the area of Hartford Turnpike and Upper State Street for a report of a wanted and possibly armed man, according to authorities. Most officers cleared the scene about 6 p.m.
