MERIDEN — Police responded to reports of gunshots late Friday night and early Saturday.

There were no reports of injuries in either incident.

At about 11:40 p.m. Friday, police received a report of gunshots at 521 Broad St., which is the address of City Tavern. Police spokesman Sgt. Christopher Fry said several patrons were inside the establishment when bullets were fired through the front window and into the apartments above.

“The building was struck several times,” he said.

Police also responded to a call around 3:35 a.m. Saturday reporting gunshots at 38 Hillside Ave. He said police found evidence that gunshots were fired at the address and that it “seemed to have been exclusively targeted.” Hillside Avenue is located off Springdale Avenue.

No further information was available.

Police are asking anyone with information about either incident to contact detectives at 203-630-6201.
