MERIDEN — Hanover Elementary School dismissed early Tuesday after a sprinkler line froze and caused water leaks that closed 10 classrooms, school officials said.
The school dismissed students at 11 a.m. School officials said rivets came off the frozen sprinkler line, causing the leaks.
School officials said repairs are expected to be made by the end of the day today.
On Monday, firefighters responded to Hanover and John Barry Elementary School after sprinkler pipes burst. The kindergarten area was affected at Hanover, and the cafeteria area reportedly flooded at John Barry.
John Barry Principal Dan Crispino said school was in session Tuesday and the maintenance staff cleared water.
