MERIDEN — A fundraiser held for a nonprofit founded by the mother of a Sandy Hook victim was held for the second year at the Meriden YMCA’s Mountain Mist Outdoor Center on Thursday.

Scarlett Lewis was inspired to create the Choose Love Movement in 2013 by three words her son, Jesse, had written on a whiteboard in their home, “nurturing, feeling, love.” She believes that if the shooter had the opportunity to give those sentiments to others and received them in turn, the tradegy might have never happened.
