Thirty years ago this month residents took part in traditional summer activities such as summer camps, getting kids ready for school finishing sports summer leagues.

A group of children on Audette Drive in Meriden wrote a poem to the Record-Journal expressing their frustration over not being able to ride their bikes or skateboards due to road construction on their street.

A vote to create a historic district in Wallingford failed by 19 votes.

Meriden teacher Steve Best traveled through 20 states along with his dog, Sensei, in his motorcycle’s sidecar.

A resident undertook a campaign to get smoking banned at the Meriden Off Track Betting facility on North Broad Street.
