Hamden police: Meriden man threatened roommate with knife at Quinnipiac University



 A Meriden teen faces charges after police said he chased his roommate with a knife and threatened to kill him at Quinnipiac University in Hamden on Monday. 

Josiah Diaz-Cregan, 18, of 136 Wilbur Ave., Meriden,  was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. 

Police responded to Quinnipiac University, 275 Mount Carmel Ave., for a report of a threatening incident, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. Diaz-Cregan reportedly got into an argument with his roommate, chased him with a knife and threatened to kill him.

Diaz-Cregan was taken into custody and later released on $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 17.
