MERIDEN — A local man is accused of sexually assaulting a young child multiple times.

Michael Biron, 25, of 775 W. Main St., was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a minor.

On March 14, 2017 a woman reported her child was sexually assaulted by Biron, who is someone she knows. The child was forensically interviewed, according to a police report.

Biron did not show up to scheduled interviews, the report said. He was taken into custody on Thursday and arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Friday. The judge set bond at $200,000 and transferred the case to the New Haven Superior Court.  A protective order was issued.
