MERIDEN — A city woman faces charges after police said she was found unconscious in a vehicle Saturday with a stolen gun and drugs.

Yazlynn Serrano, 28, of 101 Linsley Ave., was charged with theft of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics.

Police responded to the area of 51 Hicks Ave. about 8 a.m. for a report of a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. Medical personnel  evaluated Serrano and took her out of the vehicle, according to a police report.

Police searched Serrano and found a loaded Glock 42 .380 caliber firearm, the report said. Serrano told police the weapon did not belong to her and that she didn’t have a permit. Police determined the gun was stolen.

Officers searched Serrano and the vehicle and found a total of 1.7 grams of marijuana, two crack pipes, a digital scale, half a gram of crack cocaine, and $693 in cash, the report said.

Serrano was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Monday. Her bond was set at $20,000.
