MERIDEN — Three men face charges after police said they were seen with marijuana inside a car on West Main Street on Thursday.

Dalan Duncan, 23, of 464 Liberty St., and Jakese McQuillar, 20, of 313 Curtis St., were arrested on Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell. Denzell Woodard, 19, of 12 Meetinghouse Ridge, was issued an infraction for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.

On Thursday, members of the crime suppression unit were patrolling the area of 775 W. Main St. after receiving complaints of drug activity, Sgt. John Mennone said. Officers saw three people inside a parked vehicle and recognized probable drug activity taking place, Mennone said.

Officers approached the vehicle and saw in plain view the men, identified as Duncan, McQuillar and Woodard, had baggies of marijuana in their laps, Mennone said. Duncan and Woodard were rolling cigars, Mennone noted. Duncan and McQuillar had more marijuana in their possession and Woodard had a small amount, Mennone noted. Woodard was released from the scene and Duncan and McQuillar were taken into custody and later released on $10,000 bonds. They are due in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 28.
