Meriden police: Pair charged with assaulting pregnant woman

MERIDEN — Two women face charges after police said they assaulted a pregnant woman on Wednesday.

Katrina Lacomb, 36, of 189 Camp St., and Gwendolyn Gonzalez, 18, of 31 N. Third St., were both charged with second-degree assault on a pregnant person and disorderly conduct.

The incident began when Gonzalez and Lacomb went to the Hobart Street residence of Gonzalez’s ex-boyfriend around 10:20 p.m.

Once at the home, Gonzalez and Lacomb hit the ex-boyfriend’s current pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and left after learning police were called, according to a police report. The girlfriend was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Lacomb and Gonzalez were arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Thursday and released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 3.
