MERIDEN — Two women face charges after police said they stole about $1,000 worth of merchandise from multiple stores at Westfield Meriden mall earlier this month.
Lafatique Washington, of 1555 E. Main St., Meriden and Louvenia Wilkes, 27, were charged Oct. 3 with fourth-degree larceny, possession of shoplifting device, and conspiracy for both charges.
Police responded to the mall, 470 Lewis Ave., for a report of shoplifting on Oct. 3 about 8 p.m. Officers viewed security video and determined the women stole items from multiple stores, said police spokesman Sgt. John Mennone
Police searched a vehicle in the parking lot and found merchandise valued at around $1,000.
