Police: Woman shoplifted from multiple stores at Meriden mall

MERIDEN — A Bristol woman faces charges after police said she stole items from several stores at Westfield Meriden mall.

Monique Greene, 49, of 915 N. Main St., Bristol, was charged Wednesday with fifth-degree larceny and interfering with police.

Police responded to the mall, 470 Lewis Ave., about 2:15 p.m., and were told Greene, was being detained by TJMaxx staff, according to a police report.

A bag of Greene’s had about $700 of merchandise from various stores, including TJMaxx, Ulta Beauty and Victoria’s Secret, the report said.

Greene, who initially gave a false name and date of birth to police, was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Thursday. According to the bail commissioner, Greene has 51 prior convictions. She was also charged with violation of probation and her bond was set at a total of $55,000.
