MERIDEN — Police have released surveillance video of suspects in a shooting at a city bar earlier this month.
Sgt. Darrin McKay said police want to identify the two men in the video, which was taken at the Red Room Grille on Nov. 18 – the night of the shooting.
McKay said officers found multiple shell casings at the bar, 575 N. Colony Road, when they responded to the scene.
Hours after the shooting was reported, and as authorities were collecting evidence, police were contacted by staff at MidState Medical Center, who reported that a gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital for treatment, McKay said. Officers responded to MidState and determined a man was shot inside the bar and left before police arrived.
The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
On Nov. 21, the state Department of Consumer Protection issued the bar a summary suspension.
In a letter to DCP Director of Liquor Control John Suchy, Meriden Police Chief Jeffry Cossette said a supervisor at the bar attempted to deny Meriden police officers access inside when they responded.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Eric Simonson at 203-630-6318.
