Man suffers non-life threatening injuries in Saturday shooting at Red Room Grille in Meriden

MERIDEN — Police continue to investigate a Saturday shooting at a city bar that left a man with non-life threatening injuries.

Numerous shots were fired inside the Red Room Grille on North Colony Road at about 1:45 a.m., according to police spokesman Sgt. Darrin McKay. Authorities did not have a suspect or motive as of Monday afternoon.

McKay said officers found multiple shell casings at the bar, 575 N. Colony Road, when they arrived.

Hours after the shooting was reported, and as authorities were collecting evidence, police were contacted by staff members at MidState Medical Center, who reported that a gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital for treatment, McKay said. Officers responded to MidState and determined a man was shot inside the bar and left before police arrived.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and has since been treated and released from the hospital, McKay said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Eric Simonson at 203-630-6318.
