Veterans Day observances scheduled in Meriden, Wallingford, Southington, Cheshire

Area towns are holding services and remembrances Monday in observance of Veterans Day.

In Meriden, veterans and residents plan to gather at 11 a.m. at the Stop & Shop Plaza on Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

The American Legion, Post 45, Meriden United Veterans Council, Center Congregational Church and the city are hosting the event. It’ll take place rain or shine.

Wallingford’s ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday at Dag Hammarskjold Middle School, 106 Pond Hill Road.

The service is organized by the Wallingford Veterans Memorial Committee.

American Legion Post 72 in Southington will host the town’s Veterans Day ceremony. It’s scheduled for 10:55 a.m. at the post building, 64 Main St.

In Cheshire, a high school group is hosting a ceremony for veterans and their families. Any residents who served in the military or is currently serving are invited to Cheshire High School, 525 S. Main St.,  for the event starting at 9:30 a.m. 

BRAVE, Bringing Remembrance to All Veterans Everywhere, has organized the ceremony for the past few years.
