MERIDEN — A man was wounded in the area of Shelter Now at 43 St. Casimir Drive at about 8:15 p.m. Monday.
The Fire Department was dispatched to the scene on the report of a possible stabbing, and a police officer at the scene also characterized the incident as a stabbing. A second officer said the incident was not confirmed as a stabbing, but he acknowledged that it was reported as one.
At least six police cruisers, a fire engine and Hunter’s Ambulance responded to the call. The ambulance transported the victim from the scene, while police remained and interviewed people in the vicinity.
Police Sgt. Robii Abouchachra described the investigation of the event as “active.”
