Lights at Mike Vanacore Field are scheduled to be turned on, Monday through Thursday, until 8 p.m., Sept. 4 through Nov. 21, according to the Department of Community Services.
Town residents are welcome to use the field track, with the following stipulations:
Football field use is strictly by permit only.
No pets, food or drink, alcohol, smoking or tobacco products or chewing gum allowed.
Rubber soled shoes (sneakers) only on the track.
Walkers/joggers should vary lanes to distribute wear on the track.
Slower walkers/runners use the outside lanes.
No golf, rollerblading, skateboarding or cycling allowed.
Baby carriages/strollers must use the outside lanes only.
Lights will not be on Monday, Oct. 8, Columbus Day.
The high school reserves the right to schedule limited JV or freshman football games during evening hours. When this occurs, the track will remain open for public use.
