North Haven police: Man charged after woman suffers concussion, broken jaw, severe bruising in assault



NORTH HAVEN — A man faces charges after police said he assaulted a woman early Wednesday, leaving her with serious head injuries.

Scott Macri, 37, was charged with second-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, criminal mischief and breach of peace. He was held on bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court.

Police responded to a home on Peters Lane about 1 a.m. for a report of an assault. A witness observed a man punch a woman several times and then get into a car and drive off when he noticed the witness was calling police. The woman suffered a concussion, broken nose and broken jaw, police said.

Macri was taken into custody after he was found running from his car in Wallingford.
