North Haven selectman to call town meeting

NORTH HAVEN — The Board of Selectmen is slated to meet 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Town Hall to send a series of items to a town meeting.

The town meeting would be 7 p.m. June 25 at North Haven High School. 

Items to be discussed at the town meeting, according to town officials, include:

■The annual approval of the Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act program,

■An anti-fracking waste transportation ordinance,

■A couple small changes in the Code of Ethics ordinance,

■An update on the solid waste and recycling ordinance as mandated by DEEP,

■And a proposal of adding five new school resource officers among the elementary and middle schools.

Presentations on agenda items will be made at the town meeting, after which residents will have the chance to vote on the items.
