NORTH HAVEN — A Meriden man faces charges in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a mother of two in March.

Mark Rubino, 40, of Meriden, was charged Friday with evasion of responsibility in operating a motor vehicle causing death, misconduct with a motor vehicle, no insurance and failure to drive in proper lane. Rubino’s bond was set at $50,000.

Maureen Munzer, 57, of North Haven was walking on Ridge Road with her two children when she was struck by a red Ford Fusion, which drove off, police said.

The incident occurred near Homewood Avenue on March 11.

Multiple law enforcement agencies worked on the investigation, including local police and the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit.

"Over the coming months (Officer Marcus) Artaiz and SCCTU interviewed numerous witness, reviewed surveillance footage, obtained multiple search warrants, and collected physical evidence to be examined by the State Forensic Laboratory,” police said in a statement.
