Ivoryton man arrested for alleged embezzlement from North Haven business

NORTH HAVEN — Police arrested an Ivoryton man Saturday on charges he embezzled about $220,000 over two years from a local lawn care company.

Kevin Miezejeski, 54, was charged with first-degree larceny. According to a police statement, Miezejeski, the minority owner of Naturally Green Lawn Care, is accused of taking payments for services directly and manipulating the business’ computer system to cover up his actions.

In July, Michael Annatone Jr., the majority owner, reported the alleged embezzlement to police detectives.

Detectives worked with Annatone, witnesses and accountants analyzing the financial documents, police said. The thefts – about $220,000 – occurred in 2015 and 2016.

Miezejeski posted $150,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 28.
