Plainville program will discuss ‘powerful’ women


The Plainville Historical Society has scheduled “Powerful Voices: Connecticut Women Changing Democracy” for Tuesday, March 20, 7 p.m., 29 Pierce St. 

The program discusses women who have achieved extraordinary things in politics, government and social activism, including suffragette Alice Paul, early activist Isabella Beecher Hooker, and Ella Grasso, the first woman elected governor.
